Practicalities

Working with Me

I offer online psychoanalytic psychotherapy for children, adolescents, and parents. The work takes place within a regular and reliable therapeutic frame, which supports careful thinking and emotional development over time.

Sessions usually take place weekly at an agreed time. The day, time, and fee form part of the therapeutic contract and are reviewed periodically as the work develops.

I also offer parent work to think with parents how to best support their child and one off consultations with no commitment to on-going therapy for parents, foster carers, social workers, teachers and any other professionals who would like to have a space to think about what a child may be communicating through their behaviour.

Fees

Individual psychotherapy (50 minutes): £110/£80 (concessionary rate) – paid weekly in advance.

Initial consultation (90 minutes with parents/carers, plus a follow-up introductory meeting with the child): £165/£120 (concessionary rate.) I can offer this as a one off consultation for parents who are concerned about their child without any commitment to start on-going therapy.

The fee for ongoing psychotherapy is £110 per session. This applies whether the work is with a child, adolescent, or parents. (I currently have two concessionary spaces at £80 a session available. Please ask about these.)

Additional professional work — including consultations, letters, reports, or liaison with schools, CAMHS, or other professionals — is discussed in advance and charged at £110/£80 per hour.

In a small number of cases, I am able to offer a reduced fee where there are significant financial constraints. These arrangements are limited and agreed in advance.

Assessment Package

Where clinically indicated, I may offer a structured assessment package. This consists of three individual sessions with the child or young person, followed by a review session with parents. This allows for careful observation, reflection, and formulation.

The fee for the assessment package is £440/£320 concessionary rate and is payable in advance following the initial consultation.

The review session is used to consider the assessment and agree next steps. This may lead to a plan for ongoing psychotherapy or to a written summary/report with recommendations and, where appropriate, suggestions for further referrals.

Attendance and Cancellations

Session times are reserved exclusively for each patient.

Cancellations with less than 48 hours’ notice are charged at the full session fee, as the time cannot usually be reallocated.

Where a session is missed due to illness or unforeseen circumstances, this may be discussed and, where possible, rescheduled; however, the full fee remains payable in accordance with the therapeutic agreement.

Next steps

If you’d like to discuss whether psychotherapy could help your child or teenager, you're welcome to get in touch.

We can arrange an initial meeting to explore your concerns and consider what support might be helpful.
